SOHO HOME

Modern living room with a large window covered by sheer curtains, a wall-mounted flat-screen TV, a white circular chair, a coffee table with open magazines, a beige sofa with a patterned throw blanket, and a wooden media console, all in a neutral color palette.

For a new two-bedroom apartment in Soho Residence, the homeowner entrusted Duzê Design Studio with the full interior design and renovation. Inspired by the client's previous past of living and studying in New York City before relocating to Ho Chi Minh, we have this fun idea of combining minimalism and the New York Art Deco emphasis of vertical line into a unique concept for this apartment design.

Working with a space under 70 square meters and the client's desire for simplicity, the design strategically conceals internal mechanisms. The layout was reimagined through the formation and, in some instances, removal of existing ceilings and partitions.

A modern kitchen with wooden cabinets, a marble countertop, a marble backsplash, and a white wall. There are five empty wine glasses on a shelf, a black vase with dried branches, and a small beige vase. The kitchen sink has a chrome faucet, and a folded vertical blind is partially visible on the right.
A bedroom with a large round mirror above a wooden dresser, reflected in the mirror is a bed with white pillows and headboard, and a small white wall-mounted lamp.

Warm oak wood cabinetry harmonizes and strengthen the existing wooden doors, establishing the warm oak wood as a operative material to define spatial functionality within the apartment. The verticality of the cabinets integrates with the white walls to achieve a clean, modern look favored by the client. An elegant scallop-featured wall runs through the space, providing a distinct nod to Art Deco styling.
