The Identity
Located in Ho Chi Minh City, DUZÊ gallery operates as a studio for interior architecture and custom furniture. The name DUZÊ combines two atmospheric states: "dust" and "haze". It represents matters in transition—elements that are soulfully present yet often unnoticed.
DUZÊ is born to study the visual world, through the discover of meaning in history of a place/object, and to create outcomes where the spatial atmospheres and materials express themselves to be observed and revealing meanings through motion and time.

Behind the Work
Educated at Pratt Institute, the New York art scene and global history has been an intergral part of Hoa Ton's background. In his travel, he likes to collect a museum postcard in different city—a tangible marker of an artwork and its location. He would preserve that memory or send to a friend across the world. This habit of collecting and memory through visual is the heartbeat of his practice.
Returning to Vietnam to launch his independent practice in 2020, Hoa approaches design project through structural story-telling and a finesse for elegant material palette.
